Change – Every day we speak of change. I want to change this habit, i wish the weather changes, i want to change this and that, etc. So, what is it? change is always constant and that is it! Ever changing weather, priorities, decisions, self-made rituals and promises, thoughts and everything else constantly changing. The mind always behaves like a naughty child when the mother is not around. Yes, the mind is exactly that without the intelligence and the body is always at the mercy of our everchanging minds.

Yoga is for a better living, for harmony within us and around us. To perceive, sense and then live in harmony, the strength of asanas and pranayama is necessary. Sage Patanjali explains in detail the obstacles, the processes, the tools and their application on this journey towards harmony. He further simplifies what is grief, happiness, concentration, meditation, levels of meditation and benefits of meditation. There is also a mention on the outcome of following five Yamas and the five Niyamas for lives to come. Everything that we do in this lifetime begins with our body. Our body is very important but a body without intelligence is useless. Will we be in harmony with that? For the body to remain in a useful condition we need intelligence, we need to sharpen our intelligence. Asanas give intelligence to our physical body first and access for the intelligence to penetrate into the deeper planes of our body eventually. Pranayama will sharpen the intelligence enabling sensitivity towards the organic body and the mind. Following dinacharya, Yamas and Niyamas will simplify the whole process. Today we are ready to do anything for the body to remain fit but at the cost of money, less time and use technology, machines etc for shortcuts. But in Yog there are no shortcuts. Yog demands a discipline that will take care of not only the body but the mind too and bless us with harmony between the mind and body. Yoga is not only for therapy, to relieve constipation, to help one sleep, weight loss, handle stress or look young but it is in-fact a constant regular dedicated study which is like a vrata, never changing due to mere reasons of weather, relationships, priorities etc.

YOG IS ONE THING THAT CANNOT, SHOULD’NT CHANGE!
