Even as we commence and continue teaching, if we do not keep the student in us alive, we will grow in bhoga and not yoga. In bhoga, our capacity to keep consuming and enjoying keeps increasing, as we practise asanas with ignorance and teach with pride.
Only consistent practice and swadhyaya over a period of many years can mold the teacher in you. Certificates are not as meaningful as constant learning, contemplation, gratitude and inner surrender. One cannot take an exam for the above qualities, but they make their presence felt in everyday conduct and execution of living.
Your attitude towards everyone and everything around you, your compassion and humility are qualities that grow as the practice progresses.
I have set up Shriyog with an intention of creating an amiable surrounding, a surrounding that enables one to study and practice selflessly with commitment and dedication. Its an environment to grow in all aspects of life, an opportunity for constant growth, learning and application.
