Every person is defined by his unique character, his Swabhav. Similarly, our breath has its specific nature and character, based on its speed, velocity and density. We can understand the character of our breath through restorative asanas like Supta Baddha Konasana. Whenwe are in an asana, once all the physical aspects of the pose are taken care of, we should try to connect to our breath. Initially, it may seem difficult, but with practice, it will comenaturallyto us. Whenever we feel restless, we need to connect to our breath and its character. Once we know our breath, our mind performs better, thereby bringing a sense of neutrality in our attitude.
In our classes,all instructions of Iyengar Yoga are covered, with special stress laid onrestorative asanas, wherein the breath flows easily.
It is recommended to practise at least a few asanas every day, while being aware of yourbreath. This observation of your breath goes a long way in improving your yoga journey. It is also advisable to add supplements like sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, dry and fresh coconut and lemon in your diet.
