Yog se Arogya classes are for 45 to 55 minute each, 3 times per week in Magarpatta and Wanowrie and twice a week in KP. The curriculum is divided into different sections to meet the requirements of the practitioner in todays time and age.

The classes will establish the foundational poses in the basic categories of asanas, Yoga for Cardio, Yoga for Fat loss, flexibility, Pranayama and strength training as well .

You can expect use of basic gross anatomical terms for the legs, hands, head, neck, arms, shoulders, upper back, lower back, abdomen and buttock. At the end of this module, you could also expect to use basic props such as a brick, blanket or bolster.

One of the unique features of Iyengar yoga is the invocation to Sage Patanjali. Every Iyengar yoga class in the world commences with this prayer. The purpose of chanting this at the start of every class is to establish a spirit of learning and to disassociate oneself from the roles played in the world outside. In class, one is a student for 45 minutes and this separation allows one to be present fully and mindfully.

Guruji B.K.S. Iyengar was a scientist and an artist in Yog. He came to yoga as a sickly young boy and went on to become renowned world over for his contributions to the discipline. Awarded a Padma Bhushan for his life’s work, he is known for alignment and precision in asanas which are a hallmark of this school of yoga. He continued his practice till the very end and his legacy lives on in his children and grandchildren besides a worldwide family of Iyengar practitioners. One of his innovations was the use of a variety of props that allowed even the old, diseased and debilitated to receive the benefits of asanas.

Some of the commonly used props are wooden bricks and belts that are must-haves as one begins a home practice. The chair is handy for twisting and as a guide in various asanas
