When a woman starts her yogasana journey, she attempts to putaside all thoughts of her responsibilities regarding her house, family and children and focus on the instructions given in the class; this itself is a form of detachment and self-study (Vairagya and Abhyasa), and she is already en route to Yog.
But usually, women tend to postpone such detachment and immersethemselves in indulgence. When the student is unwilling to pursue the right path, it becomes necessary for the teacher to inspire and motivate her to start by taking baby steps in the right direction. On the other hand, having a teacher can also come in the way of practice.
Many students wait for the teacher to give instructions and correct them, even though they already know the right action and correction. Relying too much on the teacher might actually hinder the progress in such cases. We need to work on ourselves and train withdedication, and the teacher’s instructions should serve as a checkpoint.
