We suggest a simple practice after a relaxation in Savasana, to understand the importance of the zigzag lines that make up our chest.
We sit tall in Swastikasana, and focus on the breath as the inhalation extends our body vertically in the chest area, and exhalations expand it horizontally. A lot of mysticism surrounds the theory of these vertical and horizontal lines. Slowly, we begin to focus on the point where the horizontal and vertical lines meet – at the centre of your chest.
Our life is made up of breaths, and it is not meant to be made up of endless to-do lists. If we use each breath fully through these lines, we will be in a state of bliss. We do not need to do heavy breathing exercises. We can simply observe the light within us and find it.
We can start by spending ten minutes every evening for a simple ritual of lighting a lamp with the family or a simple Pranayama process. Simple processes bring out the human in us.
